School Uniform

It is Pareawa Banks Avenue's policy that all students wear a school uniform. It has been so exciting to see our new school uniform appearing in the playground as we transition to our 'new look'. Please continue to make sure all uniform items are clearly labelled with your child's name so we can return any lost property.

Our new school uniform can only be bought online through NZ Uniforms, however we are transitioning to being able to buy items from their uniform shop in Blenheim Road.
You will need to go to the NZ Uniform website and set up an account for yourself if you still wish to purchase online.  Payment options are offered and uniforms will be sent directly to your home address.

We have sample uniforms onsite in the Office so you can bring your child/children to try on samples and get the correct sizing before ordering online. 

For the next twelve months we will transition from the old to the new uniform.  This will mean that children will be able to wear either uniform or a mixture of both. The Blackwatch pinafore will continue to be available from the Eastgate Warehouse until sold out.

Sunhats
  • The children are expected to wear Pareawa Banks Avenue School sunhats which provide protection for the face and neck during Terms 1 & 4 (see Sun Protection Policy).
  • Our wide-brim hats provide the protection children need in the sun and we therefore ask that children don't wear caps at school.

 
Footwear
  • Sandals or shoes to be worn with white, grey, navy or black socks
  • Shoes must be appropriate for school activities
  • Coloured laces or socks are not to be worn
  • If gumboots are worn to school in wet weather, slippers or shoes should be provided to wear inside the classroom


Jewellery
  • Pupils are not to wear any jewellery to school other than a watch or stud earrings.  A small number of children, because of ethnic background, may wear an ornamental necklace.

​We have a new uniform policy to help ensure clarity around the use and return of school issued uniform items. We have invested a significant sum in contemporary, quality uniforms and we want to keep them in as pristine condition as possible. 


​Kapa haka Uniforms
  • Girls: Kapa haka dress, headband
  • Boys: Kapa haka shorts, sash


Choir Uniforms
  • Girls: Choir skirt and white blouse (both provided)
  • Boys: Green shorts (white shirt, green tie will be provided)


Second Hand Uniforms
  • Our PTA sell second hand uniforms from the school hall. 
  • Dates when their shop is open will be advertised in the weekly school newsletter and on the school Facebook.
