e-Learning - BYOD
BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) has been a feature of the senior school programme for the past 8 years. On this page you will find out all the information you need to know if you choose for your child to bring a device to school. An important thing to remember is that BYOD is not compulsory.
Keeping Safe - Using HEART OnlineWe endeavour to do our best to keep children safe online. There are a number of ways in which we do this. First and foremost we use our school values, HEART, to education the children in making good choices when learning online. We also have infrastructure in place to keep our children safe, i.e., Linewize and N4L. This allows us to filter and view online activity from any device. We follow the recommended best practice from Netsafe New Zealand. We recommend that you have a look at their parent portal. Click on the button below to access this.
We ask all students and caregivers to discuss and sign our e-Learning student user agreements annually. You can view and download these below.

What To Buy
You have two options. You can either purchase a Chromebook with a Quad core or Octa core processor (not dualcore) or a Macbook Air.
Children with a BYOD device also need a set of headphones and a protective sleeve/travel case for your child's device. At school we generally use the ACER or Lenovo brand of Chromebook as they are hardy and have a battery that lasts through the day if charged overnight. These devices are available at many providers, e.g., Harvey Norman, Noel Leeming, PB Electronics, Warehouse Stationery... and if you mention that the purchase is for a school BYOD programme, you usually get the school price.
