Hi, I’m ‘Mr Hastilow’, a beginning teacher in Awa, room 27 and the new teacher representative on the board of trustees. I have enjoyed my first year here at Banks Ave immensely and the support I have received is greatly appreciated. I am enjoying the opportunity to see how the school runs ‘behind the scenes’ and am truly amazed at the dedication and hard work shown by those that are leading our school.
My background is in sports coaching and hospitality which has given me a good insight into what people want and also what motivates individuals. I am fortunate that both of those passions have given me opportunities to travel and meet a wide range of cultures. At the weekends you can find me down at the park, playing and coaching cricket or out at the beach riding a few waves.
